A positive sound environment

Numbered patient room floors

Designs that have good acoustics, along with natural light and ventilation, help create a positive, therapeutic atmosphere.

A positive sound environment occurs naturally outdoors; our ears are tuned to the natural environment, and the sky absorbs noise. We need to create the same indoors, absorbing or diffusing noise to help support a healing environment. Our vinyl acoustic floor (Altro Serenade) contributes to the impact sound reduction of noise in buildings.

It helps by:

  • reducing the impact sound transmission
  • increasing sound absorption
  • reducing sound reflection

As well staff, particularly those who spend a lot of time on their feet, will also benefit from a quiet, more comfortable work environment.
