We are a world leading manufacturer and supplier of interior surfaces. Our safety flooring products are solely manufactured in the UK at our Letchworth site. The creation of flooring products that reduce injury and improve hygiene is in itself a valuable contribution to society. However, we are conscious of the impact our products and services have upon the environment. We always strive to develop new and existing products with sustainability in mind, never compromising on value or performance.  Balancing sustainability with the needs of our customers is a challenge Altro are prepared to meet head on.

Raw Materials
Altro are certified to the environmental management standard, ISO 14001:2004 and we ensure that all of our raw material suppliers are also ISO 14001 registered or have demonstrated their commitment to the environment. All the raw materials we use comply with relevant industry regulations and are not classified as being substances of very high concern under REACH.

Packaging
Our safety flooring rolls are wrapped using 100% recyclable packaging. So all our safety flooring packaging, from the end caps and core to the wrap can be recycled as cardboard.

Altro Easyclean Technology
Not only does our Easyclean technology improve the cleanability of Altro safety flooring but it requires less water and fewer cleaning chemicals to maintain the product throughout its lifetime, effectively lowering its carbon footprint.

Indoor Air Quality
Manufacturers, like Altro, of vinyl based products have paid much attention to the impact of products on indoor air quality and this has resulted in the development of innovative vinyl products and new installation methods. Read more here.

Infection Control
Altro safety flooring products are easy to clean and inhibit the growth of harmful pathogens such as MRSA providing both infection control and a clean environment. Impervious jointing in sterile clinical areas provides protection from harmful pathogens. Infection control and enhanced slip resistance are important features to consider when specifying products for use in a healthcare environment where the need to balance safety with hygiene is essential.
