Mercy Health Partners set forth to completely renovate their birth center facility located at their Hackely Campus in Muskegon, Michigan.
The goal of “The Birth Center” is to provide a secure, calm and comfortable space with private labor and delivery rooms in a supportive, welcoming, and healing environment. To accomplish these goals Mercy Health Partners looked for a no-wax, stain resistant flooring that could promote a safe, calm, soothing environment. Certain areas with frequent spillage, also had to be slip resistant.
After consideration, Mercy Health Partners chose various types of Altro flooring for the different areas throughout the center.
For the nursery and triage areas, CS Line and Ethos were paired together as both products had excellent stain resistance and worked well with the aesthetics and décor. The use of a wood visual helped to promote a natural, more comfortable feel.
The wood-look safety floor, Timbersafe II was chosen for the surgical scrub areas, triage areas, and as an accent floor in the operating room. Suprema was used as the primary floor in the operating room as well as in surgical areas for its superior slip and stain resistance.
